I'm passionate about the philosophy of 'no kid left behind'. I have been associated with “Parents Helping Parents” program since 2006 in Milpitas to ensure support and services needed for children and adults with special needs. I've also been promoting cricket in bay area schools to advocate this.

  1. What do you think are the top three issues affecting our children and families and how do you propose to address them?

I think top 3 issues affecting our children and families are: Lack of Access to low cost child care Low Income to expense ratio which reflects in poor hygiene and limited access to healthy food Lack of inclusion of children with special needs I'll advocate to make sure funding is allocated towards these solving these issues.

  2. How will the priorities you addressed in the first question be reflected in the way that you approach the budget process?

I will advocate for these issues to ensure budget is allocated for these issues affecting our children and families.

  3. What steps will you take to address the high cost and lack of availability of quality child care and preschool programs in our communities, especially for low-income children and English language learners?

I will work to make quality child care and preschool programs affordable, and also increase accessibility of these programs to minorities. I'll advocate for increasing program funding. I'll also work on improving the programs at the public library.

  4. What steps will you take to improve inclusion and outcomes for children with special needs or with disabilities?

I'll work with the associations dedicated towards addressing these issues as part of the city program. This will help improve outcomes for children with special needs , so that they can play a bigger role in the community. I'll advocate for inclusive programs, working with the leaders who are already engaged in this.

  5. Much of the student achievement gap has been linked to the "opportunity gap" that low-income children and children of color experience, including lack of access to healthy food, preschool, tutors and enrichment activities. If elected, what steps will you take to address this issue?

I'll try to bridge the opportunity gap, advocate for programs and activities that cater to low income children to make them inclusive in the community. I'll work with the associations already working on this issue.
