City of Milpitas, Mayor

Voltaire Soriben Montemayor

"DEFEND LIFE" is a placard, Knights of Columbus family life Observation Period has. Carried at the Planned Parenthood, The Alameda, while doing the Vigil Rosary. I also carry it at the the back of my cart while doing my house to house campaign.

  1. Taking into consideration the profound impact of COVID-19 and the expanded movement for racial justice and equity, what do you think are the top three issues affecting our children and families and how do you propose to address them?

    (1) Stay Shelter in Place; like the adults abiding the World Health Crisis Rules, wearing masks in an age limits, stay apart by 6 feet at least, wash hands often, sanitize and number of people limit to congregate.
    (2) schools are closed; online or virtual classes are in the remedial way; the classmates friends and teachers are missed. .
    (3) tired from work parents or guardians have to join the kids to study at home. Tools, equipment, space are limited.

  2. How will the priorities you addressed in the first question be reflected in the way that you approach the budget process?

the budget concerning reflection(1), is mainly aided by the Stimulus Relief from the Government as to tax payers. Masks and others are from various sources and even from own pockets; and so with (2) and (3), but, computers or laptop are family expenses, and baby sitting schedule and situations may cause some money.

  3. What steps will you take to address the high cost and lack of availability of quality child care and preschool programs in our communities, especially for low-income children and English language learners?

it may had worsened; it is realistically an example of "Learning English as a Second Language"; luckily I wasn't required of taking when I studied locally, and so with my 2 older sons, immigrated and grew up here in U.S. before preschool; For quality child care: availability is not widespread but government aided and subsidized ones is to be pursued or to be appealed for; then the cost will be reduced. There should be a qualification and requirement for employees and/or volunteers.

  4. What steps will you take to improve inclusion and outcomes for children with special needs or with disabilities?

Physical or intellectual disabilities could be classified differently; At least they're still trainable. PWID, People with intellectual difficulties are being helped by international organizations like the Knights of Columbus and Wheel Chairs Projects for the special needs by all sources too.
I will seek more help from other big or small organizations like the International Lion Clubs; I believe, the government is always helping.

  5. Much of the student achievement gap has been linked to the "opportunity gap" that low-income children and children of color experience, including lack of access to healthy food, preschool, tutors and enrichment activities. If elected, what steps will you take to address this issue?

My understanding is blending the "Achievement with the Opportunity" gaps; It could be alright, but there could be over relaxation of the sole high dream achievers, and on the other hand, on the opportunity gap side will just have not much encouragement to measure or achieve within their respective self potentials. For Me! right on the bat, I will Categorize: Challenge the Champ Principle- Show your best and I will recognize or give you rewards as often as it could be. Be Competitive, Be inspired, Be the Best too from rank and file.. Free enterprise. God Bless.
