I want quality of life for all. This starts with our youngest community members and their families. I will be a champion for children's services.

  1. Taking into consideration the profound impact of COVID-19 and the expanded movement for racial justice and equity, what do you think are the top three issues affecting our children and families and how do you propose to address them?

The top three issues affecting children and their families are child care, distance learning equalities, and mental health. We have the ability in the City of Campbell to have affordable preschools at the community center. I will make sure all families have the access they need to schools and library services. I will make sure the children and their families have access to mental health workshops and services.

  2. How will the priorities you addressed in the first question be reflected in the way that you approach the budget process?

My number one thing I will not cut from the budget are preschools.

  3. What steps will you take to address the high cost and lack of availability of quality child care and preschool programs in our communities, especially for low-income children and English language learners?

We have a wonderful community center with many opportunities for preschools. I will work with First 5 of Santa Clara County to make sure we have the services to provide for children and their families and care givers.

  4. What steps will you take to improve inclusion and outcomes for children with special needs or with disabilities?

We are building an all inclusive playground at one of our parks in Campbell. I will take what we learn from the building of the playground to incorporate in all future development in Campbell. We are building a new library and will make sure that children with special needs or disabilities are considered in the process.

  5. Much of the student achievement gap has been linked to the "opportunity gap" that low-income children and children of color experience, including lack of access to healthy food, preschool, tutors and enrichment activities. If elected, what steps will you take to address this issue?

I have extensive experience with enrichment activities for kids. I will make sure that community center gets fully utilized and offer preschool and enrichment activities for all. I will work with the library in offering tutoring services and children's activities.
